Meaning

A bonsang is a "main prize" handed to a group of artists at a Korean music award show, one level below the daesang. At the 40th Golden Disc Awards on January 10, 2026, ten bonsang went to digital singles and ten to albums; Stray Kids' KARMA and ATEEZ's GOLDEN HOUR : Part.2 were among the album winners. An artist can win both at the same show: KARMA also took the Album Daesang that night. Ceremonies differ in how many bonsang they give, and some, such as MAMA AWARDS, have no bonsang category at all.
