Affiliate Disclosure

This page states where KPOP DISCOVER earns a commission, and what that does and does not change about the editorial content.

Effective date
Last updated

KPOP DISCOVER may receive a commission from an eligible purchase made through a clearly identified affiliate link. Editorial selection and ranking are never sold. On the English site the CDJapan and YesAsia programmes are inactive, so their links are ordinary links with no tracking and no PR label.

Key points

Who pays? The store, not the reader
A commission is paid by the store from its own margin. The price a reader pays is unchanged.
Does it change rankings?No
Group, member, and release ordering follows editorial rules. Placement is not sold.
How is it labelled?A visible PR note
Where affiliate links are active, a visible disclosure appears above them. Where no affiliate programme is active, no disclosure is shown because there is nothing to disclose.

Programmes on the English site

Each retailer is held to two separate conditions. The first is whether an English-language reader can actually buy and receive the item, and the second is whether an affiliate programme of ours is active for that retailer. A retailer that fails the first condition is not linked at all. A retailer that passes the first but not the second is linked as an ordinary link, with no tracking parameter, no sponsored relation, and no PR label.

CDJapan and YesAsia currently pass the first condition and fail the second.

Editorial independence

Which groups, members, releases, and videos appear, and in what order, is decided by the editorial rules published on this site. No position in a list is available for purchase, and no commission agreement changes an entry.

Labelling

An affiliate link is labelled where it appears, not only in this document. A disclosure is shown only on pages that actually carry an active affiliate link, so the label keeps its meaning.

Frequently asked questions

Does an affiliate link cost me more?
No. The commission comes out of the store's margin and the price is the same.
Why do some store links have no PR label?
Because no affiliate programme is active for that retailer, so the link earns nothing and there is nothing to disclose.
