KPOP DISCOVER's MAP6 note

What runs through MAP6 is a rebuild out of A-PRINCE and a body of Japanese work built up over years. DreamT Entertainment debuted the five-member boy group in 2015 with Storm, starting as a reformed group that included members from A-PRINCE. Minhyuk, J.Jun, Sign, Sun and J.Vin made up the five.

Storm, Swagger Time and Love is Gone make the way in. Take the hard-dancing debut song, then the brighter middle-period track, then the emotional turn of the later years in order, and the shift across their Korean activity becomes visible.

The Japanese releases matter too, and lining up Vroom Vroom, I'm ready JP ver and I like it ! shows where they stand as a group that built contact with a committed fanbase. Storm, then Swagger Time, then Love is Gone carries the debut, the middle years and the late period.

Editors' take Storm / Swagger Time / Love is Gone — a rebuild out of A-PRINCE and years of Japanese work, gathered into three songs by a DreamT five-piece.

Japan activity score

KPOP DISCOVER original metric
No. 18/ 210 groups

No. 18 of 210 groups with recorded activity in Japan (top 9%)

  • 10Japanese releases
  • 45Japan-related tracks
  • 0Members from Japan
  • 2Official Japanese accounts

The denominator is the 210 groups, out of 525 covered by KPOP DISCOVER, whose raw score reaches at least one point. The score adds 10 points per Japanese-market release, 3 per Japan-related track, 12 per member from Japan, and 8 per official Japanese account. Japanese-market releases carry the most weight because they are the most direct evidence of activity; related tracks add track-level detail; members from Japan stand for Japanese-language communication and continuity; official accounts stand for a permanent point of contact. The weights are an editorial judgement, not a statistical optimisation, and the ranking tracks release volume in Japan closely.
