CIX is a boy group that C9 Entertainment sent out in July 2019, the name standing for Complete in X. The debut song Movie Star raised heavy visuals and tidy dance performance at the same time and made a vivid entrance for a fourth-generation act. Bae Jinyoung left at the end of his contract in 2024, and BX, Seunghun, Yonghee and Hyunsuk continued as a four-piece. They kept stacking up releases until the end of activity was announced with the expiry of the contracts at the end of April 2026.
Begin with Movie Star, Cinema, 458 and Save me, Kill me. Movie Star gives the entrance of polished dance pop, and Cinema turns to an open brightness. 458 lets the sheer intensity of the performing come through unfiltered and overwrites any impression that the visuals came first. Save me, Kill me from 2023 puts the lyrical side to the front, a late signature song that shows their strength in carrying feeling. Jungle with its dark storytelling, the bright pop of Wave and the Japanese release Pinky Swear make this a group that changed expression from release to release.
In 2022 the Japanese single Pinky Swear gave them a point of contact on both sides. As a four-piece in 2025 they left THUNDER FEVER and 'GO' Chapter 1 : GO Together, still cutting official releases after the change. The history closes with the end of activity in 2026, but the change only becomes visible across the whole seven-year run.
