TAHITI is a girl group that debuted from Dream Star Entertainment in July 2012. The later years also ran under the name JLine Entertainment, and the line-up changed more than once. The final formation was Minjae, Miso, Jerry and Ari, and in 2018 the disbandment became known through a message from Jerry. The catalogue is short, yet from 2012 to 2016 they put out 5 or more releases and kept going through every change of membership.
Three songs are worth holding onto: Tonight, Love Sick and Phone Number. The 2012 debut Tonight is bright dance pop and shows the early tone most plainly. Love Sick, released in 2013, is the one later listeners gather around and the title that comes up whenever the group is discussed. Phone Number, out in January 2015, represents the later TAHITI, grown-up in sound and in presentation. Those three alone reveal how much changed in a short span.
The turn came in 2014, when Jerry joined. Oppa, You're Mine carried the bright line on, and from around Phone Number the following year the grown-up impression moved to the front. I Want To Know Your Mind, released in May 2016, was the last single and closed a catalogue that had been renewed without a break until the end.
