GP Basic debuted with an average age low enough to become the story in itself, which is part of why the group still gets discussed.

Worth reading if you think about how young Korean trainees were allowed to debut and what that produced.

GP Basic debuted in August 2010 through Jacyhan International. Zion, Trinity, Amet and, later, Mooi and Janey form the axis of the five. At the time of the debut the very young lineup caused a stir, and the group has been cited whenever training and performance in K-pop come up for debate. As a late second-generation and early third-generation act of the early 2010s, it is also one of the few to leave several songs in a short window.
Start with Game. It is the debut single, yet the strength of the concept is already plain, so it is the fastest route to the early impression of the group. Jelly Pop the following year flips to a bright teen pop face, and Pika-Burnjuck in 2014 lands on a later sound leaning into rap and dance. Hip hop, teen pop and a street-leaning dance track make for a wide swing inside a short timeline.
The formation shifted in 2011 when Hannah left and Mooi came in. In 2012 V and Edge tried a slightly more aggressive direction, and from 2015 Zion, Amet and Mooi moved their work to China. Janey held threads outside the group through D-UNIT and television, which is part of why following members into later careers is easy here. Game, then Jelly Pop, then Pika-Burnjuck runs from the shock of the debut through teen pop to the rap colour of the later years.
Editors' take Game / Jelly Pop / Pika-Burnjuck — from the shock of a young debut to the rap colour of the later years in three songs, by the Jacyhan International five-piece.
