D-UNIT debuted in August 2012 from D-Business Entertainment with RAM, Ujin and ZIN. In a girl group market then dominated by innocent concepts, placing hip-hop leaning sound and forceful performance at the centre stood out. The following year JNEY of GP Basic guested, leaving songs that read almost like the work of a 4-member act.
