Boys Republic is Onejunn, Sunwoo, Sungjun, Minsu and Suwoong, a five-piece under Universal Music Korea that debuted with Party Rock on June 5, 2013. Electro pop and dance pop sit at the centre, and from the very start the plan reached outward, with a Taiwanese edition and exposure across Southeast Asia arriving soon after the Korean debut. The fandom is Royal Family.
Party Rock, You Are Special and Get Down are the three to hold. Party Rock is bright electro pop and makes the first impression of the five easy to catch, while You Are Special carries the friendly team feeling that Identity set out. Get Down from 2016 is a markedly harder concept, and in one song it shows where the same group went in its later years.
After BR:evolution and Get Down laid out the late direction in 2016, the Japanese debut single Only Girl followed that September, and the Japanese 1st album Beginning in 2017 gathered Only Girl, Closer, Stand Up! and the rest of the songs made in Japan. In September 2018 an indefinite hiatus was announced, and since then the group has been heard through solo work and by going back through the catalogue.
