What holds Wanna One together is that it was a limited-term project born out of Produce 101 Season 2. The 11 picked by the 2017 show debuted with Energetic as an 11-piece built around Kang Daniel at centre, with vocal, rap, dance and acting-type members in place, and their strength was a balance complete enough to sweep the K-pop market in a short span.
The ways in are Energetic, Beautiful, Boomerang, Light and Spring Breeze. Bright energy through to the ache of parting arrives over a short stretch, and the run of album titles written as equations stands for how much of this was conceived as a project.
Activity ended with the January 2019 concert, and the members went on to solo work, acting, AB6IX, CIX, NU'EST and more. A reunion stage with 10 taking part followed in 2021, and a reunion song credited as B-Side in 2022.
