KPOP DISCOVER's NATURE note

NATURE debuted in August 2018 as the girl group of n.CH Entertainment. The nine members came from Korea, Japan and China, and the debut release Allegro Cantabile led with bright, anime-theme pop. The fandom is called LEAF, and the outward-facing pitch built on a multinational lineup was deliberate from the start.

The easiest way in is I'm So Pretty together with Girls. I'm So Pretty is approachable pop, and a Japanese-language MV was made for it in 2020. Girls, by contrast, pushes a dark, strong expression to the front and marks the point where NATURE proved it was not only cute. RICA RICA and LIMBO!, released in 2022, then built a late-period character out of insistent choreography and addictive concepts.

The direction shifted gradually after the lineup change in 2020, and by 2022 RICA RICA and LIMBO! had left the boldest work of the later era. In 2024 n.CH Entertainment announced the end of activity, and each member moved on to individual work. Taken in release order, I'm So Pretty, then Girls, then LIMBO! runs from bright pop through the hard pivot to the late-period risk-taking.

Editors' take I'm So Pretty / Girls / LIMBO! — three songs tracing the move from bright pop to a strong concept, from the nine-piece group at n.CH Entertainment.

Japan activity score

KPOP DISCOVER original metric
No. 149/ 210 groups

No. 149 of 210 groups with recorded activity in Japan (top 71%)

  • 1Japanese releases
  • 1Japan-related tracks
  • 1Members from Japan
  • 0Official Japanese accounts

The denominator is the 210 groups, out of 525 covered by KPOP DISCOVER, whose raw score reaches at least one point. The score adds 10 points per Japanese-market release, 3 per Japan-related track, 12 per member from Japan, and 8 per official Japanese account. Japanese-market releases carry the most weight because they are the most direct evidence of activity; related tracks add track-level detail; members from Japan stand for Japanese-language communication and continuity; official accounts stand for a permanent point of contact. The weights are an editorial judgement, not a statistical optimisation, and the ranking tracks release volume in Japan closely.
