プリスティン / 프리스틴
PRISTIN spent years as PLEDIS Girlz before debuting, and Nayoung and Kyulkyung arrived from I.O.I to complete the ten.

Last updated:
The main group is bright and busy; the sub-unit PRISTIN V is considerably more adult, which is why both are worth hearing.
Come here for one of the most discussed what-ifs in Korean pop, with a catalogue small enough to hear in one sitting.

PRISTIN debuted from PLEDIS Entertainment in March 2017 as a ten-piece girl group. Nayoung and Kyulkyung had come through Produce 101 and worked in I.O.I, and after that group disbanded they spent a preparation period as PLEDIS Girlz before the official debut. The name is coined from Prismatic and Elastin, and the starting point was an introductory one that put the character of all ten out front.
Three songs are worth holding on to as the way in: WEE WOO, WE LIKE and Get It. The debut song WEE WOO is bright, bouncing pop that takes in the presence of all ten at once. WE LIKE follows with a noisy school concept and a strong sense of team. PRISTIN V is the five-member unit of Nayoung, Roa, Eunwoo, Rena and Kyulkyung, and Get It shows a more adult face than the full group. Because the two have different axes, the impression changes depending on which you watch first.
Up to the disbandment announced in 2019, the releases come down to WE under the PLEDIS Girlz name in 2016, HI! PRISTIN and SCHXXL OUT in 2017, and Like a V under the PRISTIN V name in 2018. The catalogue is small, but the context around I.O.I and the later careers of the members keep the group in conversation and easy to return to. WEE WOO, then WE LIKE, then Get It covers the presence of the debut, the noisy team feeling and the grown-up face of the unit.
Editors' take WEE WOO / WE LIKE / Get It — both the full group and the unit show their faces across three songs, from a PLEDIS Entertainment ten-piece.
