Follow a few songs from the starting point to the group's current sound.
Journey to Atlantis MVIf you only try one, this is it: the melody and the sense of cool air explain the later reappraisal.
Hwi hwi MVHwi hwi was the group's best shot and carries both the brightness and the stage momentum.
Kiss Kiss MVKiss Kiss is the calmer late single and the most adult-sounding thing they made.Verified English information is not yet available for this section.

LABOUM debuted from Global H Media in August 2014 as a 6-piece. The name comes from the French la boum, a party. The early stretch, led by Pit-A-Pat, built the face of the group on a bright, bursting pop line, and Sugar Sugar and AALOW AALOW polished that colour further. Working both the Korean and Japanese markets around cool freshness and pop hooks, they are known for a retro air unusual even within the 3rd generation.
The strongest way in is Journey to Atlantis (2016), also the signature song that was reappraised in later years. Its dreamy, floating sound conveys the cool freshness of LABOUM better than anything else. Hwi hwi is the song they went to war with, taking number 1 on a music show, marked by light footwork and a chorus that sticks. Go on to Kiss Kiss (2021) and the later face of a group turned towards a grown-up vocal pop comes into view.
Through lineup changes across 2017 and 2018, including Yulhee leaving, LABOUM moved to a 4-member shape. The 2019 album Two Of Us gathered up the music of the later years, and Blossom, released in 2021 and carrying Kiss Kiss, stands as the final work so far. Solo activity has held the centre since 2022, with no new group release. Journey to Atlantis, then Hwi hwi, then Kiss Kiss covers the cool pop, the song they went to war with and the grown-up vocal pop.
Editors' take Journey to Atlantis / Hwi hwi / Kiss Kiss — the change from cool freshness to a grown-up pop, across 3 songs from a Global H Media 4-piece.
No. 186 of 210 groups with recorded activity in Japan (top 89%)
The denominator is the 210 groups, out of 525 covered by KPOP DISCOVER, whose raw score reaches at least one point. The score adds 10 points per Japanese-market release, 3 per Japan-related track, 12 per member from Japan, and 8 per official Japanese account. Japanese-market releases carry the most weight because they are the most direct evidence of activity; related tracks add track-level detail; members from Japan stand for Japanese-language communication and continuity; official accounts stand for a permanent point of contact. The weights are an editorial judgement, not a statistical optimisation, and the ranking tracks release volume in Japan closely.
