DSP Media sent APRIL out in August 2015, a girl group that ended as a six-piece. The brightness and cool air drifting off the debut work Dream Candy is exactly the meaning packed into the name, the start of spring, and the early Tinker Bell, Snowman and Muah! kept delivering videos and songs built on a fairy-like prettiness.
Three songs to put through your ears first: Oh! my mistake, LALALILALA and Dream Candy. Oh! my mistake has a texture leaning slightly towards city pop, which makes it work as a way in for late arrivals. LALALILALA and Now or Never show the polished pop and stage presence of later APRIL in a single sheet, and starting there makes the change sharp when you go back to the early songs.
From the lineup formed when Chaekyung and Rachel joined in 2017 came a stretch that layered fairy-tale storytelling over aching melody, through Mayday, Take My Hand, The Blue Bird and the work they named for the month itself. In 2018 a Japanese version of Tinker Bell opened Japan, and after LALALILALA and Now or Never set out the finished later form in 2020, activity closed in 2022.
