100% is a K-pop boy group that debuted from TOP Media on September 21, 2012. The fandom is called PERFECTION. From the early dance songs to the later vocal direction they hold a catalogue of some nine years, and group activity closed in 2021 when the contract with TOP Media ended. Through the run they released in Korea and Japan in parallel, delivering How to Cry and Warrior in Japan. In 2018 they came through the news of the leader Minwoo's death, and the remaining members carried on.
The three songs to hear first are Want U Back, Bang the Bush and Better Day. Want U Back is the signature song from the year after the debut, and sharp choreography and a hard-edged expression cut the early image of 100% exactly as it was. Bang the Bush, from 2014, is dramatic in tone and takes both the pressure of the voices and the intensity of the performing. Better Day stands for the vocal direction established from 2016, where the weight of the singing comes right to the front. To fill in the poppier colour, Sunkiss alongside them brings the summer 100% into view.
The turning point is around Time Leap, released in 2016, when the group moved its centre of gravity from dancing to songs carried by singing. In the end they built the catalogue as the four of Rockhyun, Jonghwan, Chanyong and Hyukjin, and Still Loving You in 2019 left a matured expression.
