N.Flying are a band who rap, which is not a combination the Korean industry has produced often.

Seunghyub writes and fronts, Hwe-seung adds a heavier voice, and Hun, Jaehyun and Dongsung carry the playing; Rooftop climbed the charts long after release.
Choose this for guitars with jokes in them, and for one of the great late chart reversals.

N.Flying is a five-piece band that debuted in Korea from FNC Entertainment in May 2015, and the current line-up is Seunghyub, Hun, Jaehyun, Hwesung and Dongsung. Putting rapping and a band sound together from the beginning is what marks them out, and the debut song Awesome already carries that rap-rock character. The vocals run on the twin axis of Seunghyub and Hwesung, and the way the playing and the rapping trade places from song to song widens the ways of listening.
The three easiest songs to choose as an entrance are The Real, Hot Potato and Rooftop, and each wears a slightly different face. The Real came out in 2017 with the line-up after Hwesung joined, so the brightness of an N.Flying with more weight in the vocals comes through directly. Hot Potato puts humour and the feel of a band right at the front and never feels heavy. Rooftop climbed back up the charts long after release and still has a frame that has not dated. Moving between rap rock and pop rock is also why N.Flying is hard to line up beside the usual idol groups.
From 2021 onward Moonshot and Sober widened the scale of a live band, and in May 2025, around the tenth anniversary, they released Everlasting. The work is based across Korea and Japan, and a catalogue built up over a long run makes them easy to follow. Rooftop, then The Real, then Everlasting covers the chart climb, the weight in the vocals and the anniversary release.
Editors' take Rooftop / The Real / Everlasting — three songs cover both the change and the constant in an FNC Entertainment K-band.
No. 161 of 210 groups with recorded activity in Japan (top 77%)
The denominator is the 210 groups, out of 525 covered by KPOP DISCOVER, whose raw score reaches at least one point. The score adds 10 points per Japanese-market release, 3 per Japan-related track, 12 per member from Japan, and 8 per official Japanese account. Japanese-market releases carry the most weight because they are the most direct evidence of activity; related tracks add track-level detail; members from Japan stand for Japanese-language communication and continuity; official accounts stand for a permanent point of contact. The weights are an editorial judgement, not a statistical optimisation, and the ranking tracks release volume in Japan closely.
