KPOP DISCOVER's LUNAFLY note

LUNAFLY is an acoustic pop band that debuted from Nega Network in September 2012. Instead of hard dancing, the group put the closeness of voice and guitar first, with Sam, Teo, Yun and Jin each carrying both the singing and the live feel. English-language communication came early, and an activity axis aimed beyond Korea has held since the debut period.

Start with the debut song Super Hero for the texture of voice and guitar, then move to How Nice Would It Be for the soft acoustic line that suits them best. Go on to Fly To Love and the brighter, stage-ready face of the band appears. The centre of gravity shifts a little from song to song, yet the closeness of instrument and voice runs through every period.

In 2015 Teo left and Jin joined, so the memory of the original three and the continuation after it are worth following separately. Special Guy is the light-footed song that represents the later years, and set against the covers and live footage it shows how the band connected with fans in several languages. They are often cited as a forerunner of band-shaped groups such as N.Flying and DAY6. Super Hero, then How Nice Would It Be, then Fly To Love covers the texture of voice and guitar, the soft line and the pop that plays well live.

Editors' take Super Hero / How Nice Would It Be / Fly To Love — the closeness of voice and guitar in three songs, from an acoustic pop band out of Nega Network.
