Lip Service debuted on February 6, 2014 as a duo of BiPa and Kora, a female act leaning toward K-hiphop. Putting rap and wordplay ahead of the standard idol grammar left them in an unusual position among the girl groups of the time. Anna joined later to make a trio, and in 2017 word of the disbandment came from a post by BiPa. The catalogue built across Chorok Entertainment / Now Entertainment runs a little over 3 years and is short, yet each release keeps a vivid character.
The easiest 3 to start with are Yum Yum Yum, Too Fancy and Upgrade. The debut song Yum Yum Yum is a comic rap built on food motifs, and the humour and rhythm at the core of Lip Service come through most plainly there. Too Fancy leans further toward pop and teaches the range of how the group could present itself. Lining up the 2014 releases through Upgrade shows the musical swing attempted in a short span.
Remain in 2015 added a ballad direction, and the EP Hello the following year landed on the calmer tone of the later period.
