Follow a few songs from the starting point to the group's current sound.
Round 1 MVRound 1 is the debut under the old name and the lightest of the singles.
E.R MVE.R is the one people rediscover, taut and well made.
Safety Zone MVSafety Zone opens the renamed period and sounds noticeably older.Verified English shopping links are not yet available.
Inati, Dari, Jeesu, Daniel, Donglim and Simon made their debut under the name Dalmatian in September 2010. Born out of the production context around MC Mong, the group combined rap and vocals and held its own position among the mid-tier acts of the later second generation. The lightness and hip hop colour of the opening song Round 1 became the first face of the group.
Three songs cannot be skipped as a way in: Round 1, E.R and Safety Zone. Round 1 catches the bright energy of the Dalmatian years, while E.R from 2012, included on State of Emergency, lets the tension in sound and picture step up a level. The official MBC stage footage confirms the density of the live performing, so the range of the group comes through clearly.
In 2013 the group name changed from Dalmatian to DMTN with the release of Safety Zone. Under the new name the writing moved in a more grown-up direction, and what remains is a catalogue condensed into a short span. Round 1, then E.R, then Safety Zone covers the energy of the Dalmatian years, the rise in tension and where the renaming landed.
Editors' take Round 1 / E.R / Safety Zone — a hip hop flavour and the path through a renaming in three songs, from a six-piece out of Monkey Funch Entertainment / 2Works Entertainment.
No. 192 of 210 groups with recorded activity in Japan (top 91%)
The denominator is the 210 groups, out of 525 covered by KPOP DISCOVER, whose raw score reaches at least one point. The score adds 10 points per Japanese-market release, 3 per Japan-related track, 12 per member from Japan, and 8 per official Japanese account. Japanese-market releases carry the most weight because they are the most direct evidence of activity; related tracks add track-level detail; members from Japan stand for Japanese-language communication and continuity; official accounts stand for a permanent point of contact. The weights are an editorial judgement, not a statistical optimisation, and the ranking tracks release volume in Japan closely.
