LIGHTSUM debuted from CUBE Entertainment on June 10, 2021 with 8 members. The first single Vanilla fixed the first impression with the bright colour its title promises and a bursting lightness. Light a Wish then carried VIVACE, so the earliest months alone show two faces, sweetness and polish mixed together. The fandom is SUMIT, and the name is coined from light and sum, carrying the image of a gathering of light.
The 4 to hold on to as entry points are Vanilla, VIVACE, ALIVE and Honey or Spice. Vanilla touches the origin of their bright pop, VIVACE moves to a lighter step with the back a little straighter, and ALIVE, from Into The Light in 2022, shows how far the pop line reaches. Then Honey or Spice in 2023 changes the expression and the concept plainly, and the impression on the viewer is renewed with it. Huiyeon and Jian left in 2022 and the group moved to its present 6.
