The Boots MVThe Boots is the most polished of the singles and the best for the performance footage.

What defines gugudan is a theatrical concept plus strong individual entry points. The girl group debuted from Jellyfish Entertainment in 2016 with Sejeong and Mina out of I.O.I and Nayoung from the Produce 101 context, so individual routes into the group were already strong on day one.
Releases run from Act.1 to Act.5, each built on theatre or story. Take the brightness of Wonderland, the hook of A Girl Like Me, the polish of The Boots and the harder sound of Not That Type in order, and the change is obvious.
Because MV, Performance and Dance Practice versions all exist, the whole picture is easy to follow on video despite the short career. The units OGUOGU and SEMINA are worth holding onto as branches that explain the main group. Wonderland, then A Girl Like Me, then The Boots moves through brightness, hookiness and polish.
Editors' take Wonderland / A Girl Like Me / The Boots — three songs covering the theatrical concept and the individual characters, from the nine-piece group at Jellyfish.
