KPOP Meaning
Hanteo Chart, run by HANTEO GLOBAL, describes itself as the only music chart in the world based on real-time sales. Its flagship album chart counts sales of physical K-pop albums at partner stores and is published in real-time, daily, weekly, monthly and yearly versions. Only sales made directly by partner stores count; proxy sales are excluded. Hanteo records each album's first-week sales (chodong) and awards certification plaques above set thresholds. Because Circle Chart's album chart counts shipments instead, the two often show different numbers for the same album.
Usage
Fans track it during release week: "sold 1.2 million on Hanteo in the first week." Say whether a figure is Hanteo or Circle.
