KPOP Meaning
CAK is a fan term that appears alongside all-kill talk, but no chart operator defines it and people use it for different conditions. iChart, which defines the All-Kill records, tracks only the All-Kill (AK) and the Perfect All-Kill (PAK), and neither is called a CAK. Because the criteria are not fixed, you cannot treat an AK list as a CAK list. If you run into the term, check which charts and positions the writer means, and use AK or PAK when you need a verifiable record.
Usage
Seen in fan posts and English-language K-pop news, but the conditions differ from article to article. A 2018 Soompi report used "certified all-kill" for topping the realtime charts of six major sites plus iChart; a 2024 Soompi report required No. 1 on Melon's daily and Top 100 charts, the daily and realtime charts of Genie and Bugs, YouTube Music's Top Songs, VIBE's daily chart, and the realtime charts of FLO and iChart. iChart's own guide never mentions CAK, so use AK or PAK when citing records.
Examples
- A post that only says "CAK achieved" does not tell you which conditions were met.
- iChart only lists PAKs and AKs, so there is no official CAK count.
